ANTON "ANTHONY" HOCHSTEIN, [AMERICAN 1823-1909]

Anton Hochstein came to America in the early to mid-1850's and worked in Phila. Hochstein apparently changed his name to Anthony Hochstein. In the paintings around 1865 the artist signed Anthony Hochstein and the address noted as Phila. or New York. In this particular painting he lists his address as 164 7th st. Hoboken, NY.
